Exciting New Brinsea App Controlled Incubator - Testers Journey!

We drove an hour today to my silkie breeders farm. She had said she had a deal for me on three dozen. We get there and her deal on three dozen was that I'd get four dozen! 😲 She tells me she put in nearly two dozen Salmon Faverolls and about a dozen Polish, with some of those being tolbunt. The rest are silkies. If I were to keep anything, it would only be silkies though.

This incubator is going to be full as I have some of my own. I've had 64 silkie eggs in my old Brinsea, but some of these eggs are quite large so I'll see what I can fit.

I'll be setting on Tuesday. So exciting! :celebrate

We're thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with our long-time sponsor Brinsea! They have graciously offered to provide a few of our wonderful members with their brand new Ovation 56 EX Connect app-controlled incubator to test and document their experiences.

Our selected BYC members will be taking us along for the ride as they explore and use this innovative new incubator. The helpful-hatchers embarking on this adventure are:
These experienced and enthusiastic members will be sharing every step of their journey with the new incubator in this thread. From the excitement of unboxing to the process of setup, and from the anticipation of egg turning to the joy of successful hatches - we'll get to experience it all alongside them.

We invite the entire BYC community to join this journey. Follow along as our testers navigate the features of this app-controlled incubator, sharing their triumphs, challenges, and everything in between. Feel free to ask questions, offer encouragement, and engage with the testers throughout their adventure.

A big thank you to Brinsea for providing this opportunity for our members to embark on this exciting journey. And thanks to our volunteer testers for agreeing to share their experiences with all of us!

The journey begins soon! We look forward to you joining us on this hatching adventure!
This is sooo cool!

My email to them once I found out about this.

Hello!

I was recently contacted by Rob from BYC (Backyard Chickens), who informed me that I had been chosen to represent BYC by testing a new digital incubator being introduced by your company. I went to Brinsea online to see what the 56EX Connect was and am extremely impressed and excited about this opportunity.

I am nearly always incubating silkie chicken eggs. I purchase hatching eggs from quality breeders in the U.S., but I also have my silkie hens whose eggs I hatch, too.

I would love to hatch eggs in your new digital incubator and will be very happy to do anything you request in the form of promotion or spreading information about it. Thank you for this amazing opportunity, and thank you so much for your support for BYC.

Very sincerely,

Deborah Nelson
Good idea @Debbie292d! Here's mine:

Here is my email!

Good day,

Rob contacted me the other day about the amazing opportunity to test the Brinsea 56EX Connect in the US! I am absolutely over the moon to be a part of this Beta program, thank you very much for this chance try out the new technology and provide feedback.

When we started back into chickens in 2020 I was happy with just a laying flock, no roosters, no hatching, until I bought 4 silkie chicks from the feed store last spring. It was OVER! I had to hatch some silkies!!!

I found a local source for silkie hatching eggs and my friend kindly loaned me her used non-Brinsea incubator, I had an ok hatch rate, but several had tendon / leg issues / curled toes. I have since hatched from those chick's eggs and zero leg issues so I confirmed it was the incubator. The amazing TwoCrows of the BYC staff helped me through that first hatch and she stated that it may have been the incubator that caused the leg deformities. I was so upset about my poor chicks, my husband said if I was going to hatch any more he didn't want to see the tears and I needed to find the best incubator I could get. After a lot of research I decided the Brinsea Ovation would be it for me.

I know Brinsea has been a supporter of BYC, I have used the Brinsea link countless times through the threads on BYC. It is so wonderful that your company connects to us backyard chicken keepers, I live in a big commercial poultry area and many companies only deal with the 10,000 plus flocks, not the 10 to 100 bird flocks.

Thank you very much,

Tink
AWESOME!

I tucked it back away as I do have to finish my work day out before I get myself too distracted. If I don't stop myself now, I might have BYM eggs set before I realize what's going on 🤣

I'll take a close look at the incubator after work and give my first impressions.

You got eggs today but are holding them for a few days before setting them?
Do you know how long ago the eggs were collected?

She's reputable, and I've gotten chicks and eggs from her before without issues. If she had shipped them, they'd arrive in about five days and then rest for another day.
