Hey everyone....we just got back from Portland late last night...BAD roads....

I am going in for my first ultrasound this afternoon (appointment at 1pm PST)....

I am still really queasy and have terrible heartburn. My boobs aren't as sore but still are a little tender,

I haven't thrown up (yet) but smells really get to me and I feel really sick.

I didn't take any of the "recommended" classes (including lamaze) and did just fine. They walk you through everything you need to know while you're there. The only "class" I took was the epidural class so there was NO chance of someone telling me I couldn't have one!

wow, another boy! we need to award a prize to the girl having folks since that is apparantly more common. Not that I mind for myself....I like that I'm having a boy

Hey all, I am thinking of joining in!

I'm due with our second baby April 28th. I am not sure what it is yet, we find out Jan 7th. Hoping for a GIRL! Can ya guess what the first one was?

First thing I learned about being pregnant is...when someone says it should end or should start by whatever weeks, don't listen. Your body will do as it pleases. I had my hopes up for a lot of let downs! lol. For instance, morning sickness. Generally lasts first trimester right? Well first baby that was the case, ended perfectly when I entered the second trimester. This baby? Yeah no. I am about 6 months along and my current gained weight? 0lbs. I have just managed to gain back all the weight I lost my in my first trimester due to puking my guts out!!! And i'm still sick! I can usually control it, but man oh man how I wish for the simpler pregnancy! Boobs never hurt first pregnancy. They still hurt in this pregnancy. Painfully.

I didn't do baby classes. I wanted to, but had my DS 3 weeks early due to preclampsia and HELLP syndrome. So, I missed the classes and winged it! Just watch a few birthing shows, you'll know what to do

Also didn't have an epidural. Believe you me, I wanted one. I am such a wimp. With HELLP syndrome I found out I couldn't have one, due to risking bleeding into my spine. I almost jumped off the bed and tackled the nurse that told me that news. No pain meds?!?! It actually wasn't that bad. Not sure what I want to do with this one. Kinda want to have the epidural so I can tell all the moms that go "Oh, I still felt everything" That no, you really didn't.

Oh, and please don't mind me. I am also EXTREMELY angry this pregnancy. First pregnancy I cried and said sorry about everything. I think DH wouldn't mind that one back. lol. So if I sound a little abrasive, it's really the hormones, not my normal behavior.

Ya things dont follow a particular order...like everyone says that the frequent peeing will slow down the 2nd trimester.....guess who is NOT experiencing that? I really wanna sleep through the night

hey...anyone know why my obgyn said I shouldn't sleep on my stomach anymore? I figure if it doesn't hurt then It should be ok right? I heard someone else say that you shouldn't sleep on your back and yet she said that was fine. In any event, it will be another reccomendation that I can't follow cause I just can't freakin sleep on my back and can't manage to sleep on my side all night. Or should I say in between trips to the bathroom. Atleast i have been awake to stoke the fire every night

I just got some maternity clothes off CL for free!! They are some real nice pants, funny thing is I will have a nicer maternity wardrobe than my usual clothes.

You're not suppost to sleep on your back because there's a risk that your enlarged uterus can compress your arteries going down into your legs and/or to the baby. Same goes for sleeping on your right side; it increases the risk that you'll restrict bloodflow. It doesn't really kick in until you start getting further along, but that is why they say that.

I usually end up flip flopping back and forth and sometimes just use a pillow to prop me at a slight angle. So long as you're not completely flat you can still be on your back.
