I feel you on those shifts too! Thankfully 85% of my time is at a desk but they always seem to schedule meetings in different buildings! And of course I usually forget about them until I'm almost late and end up speed walking over.

...

Out of curiosity, has anyone else out there picked out the name already? DH and I picked out a name but my Mom isn't really happy with it (she does that 'that's nice dear, but what about something more like...' and everyone else does the 'that's interesting/different' routine. I don't think they don't like it, just that they were suprised.

Oh, the name is Tobias.

well I like the name tobias, it's up to you not your mom anyway right?

We actually have had names picked out before I even got pregnant. we have been together so long that we had discussed it over the years. It was nice not to have that i like this, but he likes that sort of thing.

Our boy is Shane, my DH and I both have fond memories of people in our lives named shane and we have never met a jerk named shane either

hope you all survived the new year holiday, was really tough for me this year, I have never not been totally wasted on new years eve and boy does it suck when everyone else is hammered and you aren't. I feel like a recovering alcoholic sometimes. makes me wonder if I am truly ready for this mom thing. ready or not...here it comes!

Wierdest thing happened last night though...I got really dizzy and almost passed out, I dont know if it was the TV or the people or that it was almost 1am. The one time I needed my DH to help me out he was passed out from drinking so much. idk, feel fine now and as soon as I left the house and got in the car I felt better. for some reason I think it was the TV messin with me. they have a real nice HD picture..idk, im just crazy I guess.

thank god for my chickens, they always make me feel better. and they are loving the weather, it's somehwere around 50F outside!!! no frozen water yesterday or this morning. so nice.

anyhow, I am rambling...have a good day ladies!

Dizzy spells/fainting happen because your blood volume is going up. Basically, don't stand up too fast or stress out your body too much. I can't remember exactly how much the blood volume increases by but it's at least 40%.

Funny because my mom is saying boy because it's a slower heartbeat? LOL

It is boy slow, girl fast...but, that's not an accurate way to tell.

I thought about making my own baby food with my first one 10 years ago, but now, not so much. I'll leave that to you girls with the time on your hands.

I almost passed out at work when I was 16 weeks. My bp dropped to 96/42, and my heart raced...like I was dehydrated or hypoglycemic, but I was neither. Could have been a vasovagal reaction -- the heavy uterus pressing against major vessels like the vena cava or femorals. I'll never know...nothing has happened like that with my other pregnancies and nothing's happened again with this one since then. There is major fluid shift that occurs around 16 weeks with the increase in b.v. as mentioned above.

I am hypoglycemic....and being nauseous all of the time is making it very hard to stay awake and not dizzy because of low blood sugar.

I have recently started making myself breakfast smoothies (peaches, bananas, vanilla yogurt & a dash of cinnamon) and that seems to perk me up and I can keep it down (so far).

I slept a ton during this first trimester...mainly just to get through it...worst one I've had so far. I was nausiated from sun-up to sun-down. It was miserable. BUT, now this is the best pregancy I've had so far, over all.

I drank lots of Sprite & Gatorade, and nibbled all day long...seems like when my stomach was empty, the nausea just multiplied.

Those smoothies sound good, btw!

I found out on xmas eve, that my fiance and I are expecting!
I think I'm due at the end of august - going by the first day of my last period anyway.
I have my first doctors appointment on friday though!

What am I NOT allowed to do when it comes to chickens, and what do I NEED a dust mask for?

I did everything I normally did when I was pregnant, including lugging those feed sacks around. The doc said it was fine since I was already use to it. The only thing I would worry about wearing a mask for is if you're doing some heavy-duty cleaning out of the coop.

Congrats!
