Expert Silkie and Golden Campine sexer needed!!! also there are many photos ;)

It looks partially bearded.. The tophat is what makes the face less visible. I have a partially bearded boy. I think he's quite striking :love

And you can see his face no problem.

I don't know if it will help or not but I got this video to post. Sorry the sound is a little off, my camera doesn't capture the best of sound sometimes. But it shows how my silkie moves.

cool I just didn't want to end up with something like this.

Also I can't have a rooster inside the city limits. :(

So if it is a "he" I'll have to start over with some more babies.

The silkie is a roo, sorry. Pullets do not have combs like that and they also do not have the longer tail feathers sticking out. Silkies don't get saddle/hackle feathers like normal chickens...they get streamers that sort of pour out of their poofs down the back of their necks.

Hatchery silkie pullets can get very large combs, though this is a boy. Just thought I'd clarify that.

~sorry for lack of neatness here, on cell at lunch. and it is only 1/2 a smart phone.

ok so my silkie is most likely a roo. makes me very sad but that is how life is.

in the video i think it is just eating. i don't really remember it picking up and the dropping things.

the silkie does like to sit on top of the campine chickens. does that say anything to its gender. i have read that silkie roosters have been known to take care of chick.

i can take another video and see if i can get the sound better.

what # of straight run baby silkies would you all recomend in order to get a pullet? crazy question i know. (started the spring with 2 and lost one at day 3)

all input is welcome.

would like to hear more on the golden campine ;)

thank you all again.

Interesting since all of my hatchery silkies have absolutely no combs! And, they have been laying for months now. However, all the boys whether hatchery or SQ have all gotten good size combs...especially the hatchery ones seem to get huge combs quickly!
