This little guy just hatched out and I’m not sure how to handle the exposed yolk sac. I couldn’t find info online or on YouTube so I am lost. It is acting fine but I don’t want to put it with the others as I assume they will peck the yolk sac. Any help would be most appreciated.

Sorry no one has replied. Just make sure it doesn't rupture it, remove any other chicks so they don't peck it. I would put it in a paper towel lined cup, something very soft. @Pyxis or @WVduckchick do either of you have any suggestions? I've never dealt with this.

Putting it in a paper towel lined cup is what I usually recommend, and also tucking it back into the bottom half of the egg shell of possible. So, tucked back into the egg, then into a cup, and leave it in the incubator until it finishes absorbing it :)

It is drying up pretty quickly. I’m going to let her stay in the incubator for a few more hours and then move her in with the rest with some type of quarantine. Thanks for your response. The cup is a good idea.

Its crazy how fast it absorbs. The very first chick I ever hatched looked very similar and she turned out fine. She was a loud mouth though, even as an adult. Good luck with your wee one.

How did your chick do? I had this happen yesterday. The mom and other babies were feasting on her yolk and red stringy umbilical. I'm curious of her odds of living. I'm applying iodine three times a day and she sleeps inside on a heat pad. I had to take her away from her siblings and mom.
