We've had chickens for about 7 years and this is the first time I've seen an egg membrane encasing a hardshell egg! It's crazy weird. It came from our 1 year old Salmon Faverolle. Is this just a quirk in the egg laying system for the day or is it something more serious that we need to look into?

(I'm not sure if you can upload videos) But I decided to open it up. I expected it to be a normal egg inside but nope....and it was nothing but runny yolk and lots of it!!! The whole shell was full of yolk.

The membrane on the outside of shell is caused by anti-peristalsis, the shelled egg backs up in the system and gets another coating of membrane.
Was there albumen inside that outer membrane, or is that water from rinsing?
Not sure about the all yolk.
