EYE INFECTION.. PLEASE HELP!!!...

Hello! My silkie rooster has an eye shut for a day now. He is healthy the other day and has no sign of any sickness. He grew up inside the house so he doesn't interact with other chickens.

What is your location? Do you have mosquitoes out right now? It could possiibly be fowl pox virus. Is the eyelid stuck together with sticky drainage? You might try irrigating the eye with saline eye wash, and applying some Terramycin eye ointment twice a day into the eye.

I'm from Philippines. Yes, lately there are lots of mosquitoes in the area. Yes, I noticed that he has a small swelling last Wednesday around his eyelid, then there pus or yellowish inside around the afternoon, yesterday he cannot open his eye.
 
Flush the eye with saline twice a day. Use a warm wet compress to loosen a stuck together eye. Triple antibiotic ointment or antibiotic eye drops can be used in the eyes. Do not disturb scabs on skin because it may spread the pox virus. Here is a good article to read:
