Eye issue on peep or peck wound?

How old is the chick? Did it come from a breeder? It may have conjunctivitis from a respiratory disease, or swelling from a peck wound or something that has gotten into the eye to cause inflammation and swelling. Look into the eye for any debris, and look around the eye for any signs of a peck.

Do you see any sneezing or heavy breathing? MG or mycoplasma can be a cause of respiratory infection. Tylan 50 injectable can be used orally in chickens if you are treating MG. Dosage is 1/4 ml 2 or 3 times a day for up to 5 days.
Hatched by my broody hen. No other symptoms. Not there yesterday.

A lot better than my advice

Have you ever seen any sneezing or respiratory diseases in any chickens or poultry you have ever had? Is the chick lethargic, having gasping or sneezing? Respiratory diseases can show up around 3 weeks old if chicks have been exposed by a carrier. If you think it is a peck wound, it should go down. You can buy Terramycin eye ointment at most feed stores, and it is applied into the eye twice a day. If it is a respiratory disease, I would use the Tylan, and give it orally. It does have to be withdrawn from the vial with a syringe and 20 gauge needle, then remove the needle to give it orally.

Never had any issue with any chickens. Chick has zero symptoms...none.

Was the egg from your flock? MG can be passed down through hatching eggs.

If not a respiratory problem, I would either treat with some eye ointment of watch it. I have used plain neosporin ointment or drops in chickens. Do look for anything in the eye. We have seen some bad eye abscesses from seeds or dirt in eyes.

OP, I remember reading your first thread here when you rescued your hens from work and went to a ton of work and trouble to give them a good home. Is this one of their babies ? BTW, I loved that thread.

Peeps hatched from my own chickens' eggs.

They learned to dust bathe and now they fling stuff all over like nuts.

I see something in the eye when I enlarge the picture. Can it be an eye worm ?
Where did the sand come from ?
