Hello everyone. I go out to the coop every morning at 6 and it's still dark out. I let everyone out and clean it, break ice and feed a warm breakfast. Sometimes I'll have a pullet down off the roost waiting for me and an egg in the nest box. Not always the same pullet either. I always thought chickens had poor eye sight! When they were younger, they would start screaming when it started to get dark. Anyone one else have chickens that break the mold with surprising eyesight?

Since my 32 months old Golden Comets started laying, I've found an egg in a nest at 5 am several times a week.
Even now with only one laying, I still find one weekly or so.
I close coop after sunset and make sure all are on the roosts and check nests. GC
