I know what it is because I have seen it alot in peacocks. They usually get the disease from chickens. Anyone who is having this problem will notice some of the birds will be gasping for air. All you have to do to cure this is give your bird 1/2 cc of tylan 200 in the breast 3 days in a row and that will take care of it. What people describe as the birds eyes being swollen is actually there sinus swelling.

What specific disease is it, Shaun? Or, are you saying it's a sinus infection, not a disease?

Thanks speckledhen

But, what is it? The OP needs to know which disease. Some are carrier types, meaning the bird is never really cured and will always be able to infect others. I think it's best not to blindly treat without any idea what you're treating, but then, I always get blasted for saying that around here.

I believe it is Mycoplasma gallisepticum which is Chronic respiratory disease. I am 100% sure that it is some strain of a respiratory disease but to know which one exactly you would have to have a bird tested.
