Eyes sealed shut & not eating or drinking - day 2!

I got some LA-500 (oxytetracycline)
I was able to text two vets - one said 0.1 cc and the other said 0.5 cc.

DO YOU HAVE LA-200 or LA-500?
My notes says Oxytetracycline dosage is 25-40mg/kg which would translate to 0.06 to .10ml per pound of weight - THIS DOSE IS FOR LA-200 (Oxytetracycline 200mg/mL) if you have something different, then the dosage would be different!
LA-200 is given by intramuscular injection - my understanding it can cause injection site necrosis so be sure to alternate sides.

Her eye looks really crusty to me. I would continue to flush with saline, remove any pus that you can and apply an eye ointment to the eye 2-3 times a day.

The chicken is better today! I have been doing everything I could for this little, 1-lb girl for the past four days - wiping & flushing with Poultry RX, syringing liquid, spooning yogurt, running a humidifier, and using a heating pad when she seemed cold. Yesterday, after consulting with multiple people, I gave her a shot of antibiotics, and now she's drinking on her own again!

I gave the shot (.5 cc of LA-200 subcutaneously) yesterday morning around 10, and that afternoon, her eye started to produce big, white boogers instead of clear goop. I didn't think that was a good sign, but after wiping it away for the 4th time this morning, she opened her right eye. Does this follow what anyone else has ever seen happen in a chicken?

I typed it wrong yesterday. I have LA-200. The people at the co-op said to give LA-200 under the skin if I could but that I would probably have to put it in the breast tissue because she's so small. I did manage to get it under the skin (instead of in the muscle).

Glad to hear she is improving!
It's probably good that the pus is starting to form now so you can clear that out.
Try to press the pus out several times a day, flushing with saline and apply an eye ointment like Terramycin or you can use plain Neosporin in the eye.

FANTASTIC NEWS: I've been waiting a few days to post this, but my little hen is doing well! I started her on .5cc of LA-200, then went down to .25cc of LA-200. A vet came out to look at my cows and she had us switch to .1cc of Baytril for 5 days. We're on day 3 of that, and my little hen is going to live!! She's up & active with her eyes open - eating and drinking and pooping.

THANK YOU for all the help and advice!!
