She bumped into a towering figure of pure ebony, the greenish claws on one foot tapping. Venom looked down at her, "What were you doing?" he asked, his olive tongue flicking as he grinned broadly.

She backed up into a thorn bush, wincing as the thorns cut into her scales. Pressing herself to the ground in fear she replied "I-I was h-hungry sir"

"Hungry!" he said with a snort, "Next time you will have to ask Fear's permission, or else I'm going to tell him," he warned, breathing it in her face, showing his apparent doubt toward her loyalty. "Now go make yourself useful and offer some help to the warriors."

She nodded quickly and slunk away, begining to climb up the side of the mountain to the cave entrance. Her blunt claws scrabbled feebly on the hard surface and she nearly fell back over the side before managing to get back into the cave. She walked slowly over to the nearest warrior, keeping her body so low it brushed the ground. "D-do you need anything?" She stammered

"I'm fine," said Chara, sheepishly smiling as she dusted her scarlet coat off with her paws.

"It was a very lovely rainforest, teeming with life. I needed a change though, since I lived their all my life. However, I'm still getting used to the weather, flora, and fauna here," said Xene, her exotic beak standing out against the dark.

"That's good to know," she replied to the chick, smiling.

Xene suddently noticed Apollo swooning over her for a moment and let out a silent giggle, but then leaned down to take a sip of the crisp and cool water.

She bowed deeply "Yes ma'm" And turned, jumping back over the edge and flapping clumsily until she landed with a thump on the hard ground. At once she set out for the forest, going as fast as her short legs would take her. Suddenly she spotted a deer out of the corner of her eye and began stalking it until she was close enough to pounce. She took the animal by surprise but it still managed to kick her in the leg, leaving a dark, purple bruise. Limping, she made her way back to the cave, dragging it behind her and leapt for the edge with all her strenth, just barely managing to catch it with the tips of her claws. But by bit she inched her way up until her claws were nothing but bloody stumps from being worn off by the rock. She dragged it over the the dragon warrior and stepped back, bowing again.

Apollo saw that she noticed his fancy of her and gulped his last swig of water down hard, suprised at how easily she detected it. He nodded a greeting to the two conversing before trailing off, convincingly acting as though it weren't true as he casually trotted away.

Xene pulled a small pouch from under her wing. It was filled with all sorts of rare herbs from her old home, most brightly colored. She opened it and made sure each plant made the trip and thankfully, they were all intact and looking just as they did when first plucked. The gryphon began to slowly flap her wings and ran, getting faster and faster, eventually vanishing off into the moon-lit sky.
