Yeah, thinking I'd like to order one or two myself, for use in the kitchen cutting up chicken. I'd finish a lot faster with a confidence-giver like this! I might even buy a mandolin for my kitchen, too. (Evil laughter)That looks awful!!! I am so sorry that happened to you!
It's too late for this injury, but in the future, here's my recommended safety glove:

Spectra / Dyneema fiber is one of my favorite materials. Stronger than Kevlar and steel.

They put Spectra in falconing gloves. Unfortunately, since they contain leather, falconing gloves are not easily washable, which limits their use somewhat. However, there are plenty of other Spectra and Spectra combination glove options.
No worries about infection. They had her hand soaking in red stuff for 15 minutes and then irrigated it well (we told them the story) A tetanus shot and prescription for antibiotics and she'll be right mateLooks nasty!
Glad it isn't worse, and hope it doesn't get infected. Those recommended gloves sound good to me!

Becky's Mom here. I doubt she'll pick up a knife again I should have been the one doing it as I've been a chef for years, but she was determined to give it a go! She got to eat dinner with plasticOh dear!
I hope it heals up quickly for you.
I second the recommendation for the cut gloves. We use them at work and I bought some for my own kitchen.
Been a chef for years ... Mandolins still scare meYeah, thinking I'd like to order one or two myself, for use in the kitchen cutting up chicken. I'd finish a lot faster with a confidence-giver like this! I might even buy a mandolin for my kitchen, too. (Evil laughter)
I would have to give the rooster 2 points for that.
