Fair Wrning For Bird Shippers

Good for you! You are lucky.

I used to run online business from 1998-2006 mailing hundreds of small packages a week via USPS.

I had many problems with delivery, to various parts of US some were better some were worse.

In many cases USPS destroyed my package (running it over with postal truck - tire marks on the package proved it) then they sent it back 2 months later.

When the times were good and they were long lines of customers lining up in front of any UPSP window. quite few of their employes were rude, lazy, and selfserving jerks.

They were sacred cows of the system protected by union and confident of their fob security.

I am sorry for every US worker who lost job in latest recession/depression.

Not for any single USPS postal worker though. Finely reality cought up with some of them.

I could not care less if USPS is going bankrupt, perhaps it's a time to cut some more fat. instead of raising rates every few months now.

Life will go on and other carriers will take over.

Pascopol You say other carriers will take over. I personally find it highly doubtful though. That's the WHOLE point. NOBODY has EVER stepped up to the plate, nor do they WANT to. Don't you find this shocking? They dont want to deal with live animals of any kind thats the bottom line !!!Call FED-EX or UPS if you dont believe me. I have and so have many other people BTW this was about six years ago when the USPS was all uptight because of bird flu, remember ? Like Deerman said As far as I know Delta airlines is your ONLY other alternative on live transport. And unless you live right by an airport most people have a LONG drive. ( 1 hour for me). So for me like I originally said SOMETHING is ALWAYS better than NOTHING. Im off my soapbox now.

So really, if you want to blame ANYONE or ANYTHING for the huge rise in costs at the PO, blame the INTERNET. Its really NOT corporate greed, its corporate survival at its most desperate level- the PO is sinking fast and its own top brass predict it completely shutting down within the next 15 years.

SO IT'S ALL AL GORES' FAULT?

This Does Suck.... Its Bad Enough Feed Costs Have, And Continue To Sky Rocket, Forcing The Prices We Have To Charge For Eggs Ever Higher Which In Turn Decreases Our Sales, But Add The Insult Of Shipping Prices To It And Many Buyers Will Turn Away All Togather. The Basics Of A Capitalistic Society Are Simple, Our Economy Is Based Off Of Supply And Demand, No Demand And You Better Hope Your Supply Tastes Good... I Noticed Decreased Egg Sales Last Summer, And It Was Just Starting To Pick Up Around The End Of The Year... Now Its Going To Cost My Clients Even More... Thats Not Good For My "demand"

I Dont Even Want To Think Of What A Nightmare Will Exist When Usps Goes Away.. Even Tho Many Times We Love It As Our Favorite Whipping Dog Due To Shipping Mishaps Or Poor Quality Service Unfortunately It Really Is "the Best We Have Got" To Ship Eggs Via Ups Is And Always Has Been More Expensive Than Usps And Slower With More Questionable Dependability. Fed Ex To My Knowledge Wont Even Ship Eggs, Let Alone Live Critters....
