. I have four young hen (ducks) in my flock and I was wondering if this is a fairy egg or the normal size of the breeds egg it also had a weird dark spot on it. The photo is compared to my other older layers eggs.
the four new ones are:
A Rouen, black Swedish, Ancona , and Pekin.

A fairy egg is usually the size of a quarter or smaller. The smaller egg in your picture just looks like a regular small egg. All of my girls lay different sized eggs some large and some the size of a medium chicken egg. Here is a picture of an egg from one of my smaller egg laying hens (Blue Green Far Left) and one from one of my larger egg laying hens (Blue/Green Far Right). The brown egg in the middle is a "large" store bought chicken egg for comparison.
