I was thinking....should we try to do some door prizes or snacks or something like that?? I know there's a couple fast food joints right there that we could eat at....just trying to find something else to spice it up a little more.

What about a contest or mini-show? Have like a ballot for (any age for all) Best Roo, Best Hen, & Best of Show?? If you guys wanted to do that, i can put that together...have ribbons/awards for the winners.

The little contest with ribbons sounds good to me.

I was gonna look around and see what I had to offer for door prizes but haven't had time. I've got plenty of chickens that I could offer for door prizes.

I plan to sale a huge part of what I have and thin out the chicken farm some. It is getting too time consuming with all I am trying to do with the kids and horses. Gonna focus on the bobwhite and coturnix which are far less time consuming.

So, if you are interested in Cochins, Silkies, Sizzles and Frizzles and Old English Bantams please PM me asap. I plan to start thinning them out asap - first come first serve! If you don't want to wait until Aug 6 - I will be glad to meet you somewhere before then.

Hey folks. Just wanted to get an idea of how many entries and what they are for our mini-show. If we don't have @least 5 in each category (roo, hen, youngin') then I will combine all groups and just have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Birds can be any age, any breed, LF or bantam. You can enter as many birds as you want.

Please feel free to post what you plan on entering (no pic necessary). Sex, breed, age, LF or banty.

Anyone have any ideas for door prizes? Also, I'm still waiting on confirmation for us getting the BYC Banner. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I will enter a young cochin pair and a young silkie pullet in the contest and maybe a oeg bantam roo.

I think I'm gonna bring bantam cochin pairs. I have some blacks, buffs, columbian, and buff columbian. Maybe blue, mottled and calico also.
I've got some Blue Swedish ducks also - 4 blue and 1 lavender and 2 African Geese if anybody is interested in those let me know.
What about Jumbo Brown Coturnix Quail or Texas A&M Quail - anybody interested in those??

Yes, I have Buff Columbians, White Columbians, Mottled, Buff, Black and Blue. I may have a Calico roo available too. What color are you looking for?

Out of those probably mottled. I've recently fallen in love with bantam cochins...
