prairiegirl! Welcome to the wonderful world of BYC swaps! I've been sucked in big time! It's SO fun to get a whole bunch of quilt blocks in your mailbox!!
I bought my fabric. I have a red fabric with a small floral print, a yellow fabric with a small floral print and a dark green fabric with pine needles and pine cones. I am double checking the red to make sure it wont bleed. I washed it in vinegar, and it is now in its second soak with some stuff I bought to stop fabric dye from bledding. Red is terrible for bleeding.
I found the most beautiful fall colors fabric at Joann's and I'm pairing it with a rich yellow and gold for my rail fence block. It has every fall color in it and it is gorgeous. I just hope my sewing does it justice.
I had a class teacher tell us to use the little color block sheets that you can put in the washing machine and it absorbs all the dye.
I use them and put all the fabric in the wash together in HOT water. These little sheets obsorb all the dye and won't let the fabrics bleed into one another. They kind of look like thick fabric softner sheets. Works great !!!!!!!!!!!
All ya'lls colors sound wonderful!!!! I have moss green and some tirangles with pumpkins and some with leaves..all that pumpkins fabric. I love the reds and golds and florals, should be some pretty blocks with this swap!!!
