Oh it never occured to me it would get cold enough you would need glove inside!!!!!.
They are for insideon those days where it's a little chilly. And for work. I work grave shift answering 911 and dispatching for police, fire and EMS. I get chilly, and these leave fingers open for typing!![]()
Winters not so bad. You just have to dress for it. The horses get fuzzy, dogs stay in the house, and this will be my first winter with chickens. I hear they do pretty well.
They have a big 8x10 coop for 12 hens with lots of roost space, a raised box for sand baths, good ventilation ( I think) and I will go with deep litter for cozy toes. I have a heat lamp, but don't plan on plugging it in unless they are getting too cold. Only thing I worry about is keeping combs from frost biting. My barred rock has a nice one! My understanding though is the good ventilation will help.

Well I spent most of my yesterday talking under my breath about your kinsmen in OK (dispatchers) lol
I don't own enough cloths to make that bearable, wal mart doesn't carry enough clothes to make that bearable!!!!!!!!
I have heard good ventilation helps keep combs from frostbite, I have also heard applying vaseline can help too on those bitter nights, but no actual experience.
