Hello, everyone. I'm the swapper who had to drop out due to family emergency. I just wanted to let everyone know what's going on. On 11/15/12, DFIL had a hemorrhagic stroke & has been in MSICU ever since. He has been dealing with aspiration (requiring being placed on a ventilator for 2 days), confusion, agitation, inability to walk well, burred vision, trouble breathing, kidney disease, & uncontrollable hypertension. His BP is under better control, but his kidneys are not doing well, which means that he has fluid building up in his lungs. It's been a roller coaster ride for all. We live about an our away from the hospital, so I've been spending a lot of time on the road. I have been bringing some crochet with me, but I really don't get a lot of consistent time work due to family interruptions, phone calls, etc., which is why I had to drop out of the swap. I just couldn't get my sqaures done. It's been 18 days now & he's still not doing well. Please keep us in your prayers. We lost my DMIL 3 years ago November 28th to a hemorrhagic stroke, so this has been extremely hard to deal with. But, we know God has very thing under control.

Thought I would share some of eastTNchicks response when she found out of our intention to send her squares to her anyway, since it is a response to all of your kindness.

You all have brought tears to my eyes with your kindness. I really hated to drop out, but I didn't know how I could get them done in time, & I didn't want to hold everyone up. I may try again at the winter swap, but I'm just going to play it by ear. I have been reminded again that allowing others to bless me brings them an even bigger blessing in return. My first reaction is that I don't deserve them, but I know that you all have worked so hard & are being so generous, so I will humbly accept your wonderful kindness with a grateful heart.

That is a beautiful sentiment and shows what a loving heart you have. Your family is in my prayers. I hope that whenever you look at the afghan with the squares from the fall swap you think of how kindness spreads, how sharing grows and how prayers help. God bless.
