Fall Hatch! Anybody with me??

I've done it with an egg cartoon but I use the top and laid the eggs on their sides. It worked great to limit the mess!!

I use the shelf liner in the Brinsea since space is an issue and clean up is pretty easy!!

Removed the turner and my Hovabator with Turkens is on lock down, well sort of. I have one Leghorn egg to remove that is from a later hatch. Octo20 is heating up. I'll add the Leghorn egg in a couple hours, I candled it and it looks like a possible chick, the others didn't make it. 1 out of 11 for my shipped white Leghorn eggs. We'll see what happens with it. If it does hatch it will have been a hardy little trooper!

Those Turken eggs are moving noticeably!! Some are surely gonna hatch. Well I hope. I added water to the other tray in the Hova like the instructions said so I'm hoping that will do it. Got my California Grey eggs to sit and settle overnight and I'll add them to the Octo in the morning to start incubating with the Leghorn egg.
Go Turkens go!!!! Good luck with the hatching everyone! Keep me posted!

Yeah, 14... thanks. I think lockdown is terribly stressful. I'm convinced that my incubator is too hot, too cold, too humid, too dry and the eggs are all laying the wrong way. I am miserable every time I think about it.

In the meantime I am convinced the temp and humidity in my Brinsea is all wrong too. Ay ay ay.

What does your humidity run? I filled one channel and my humidity seems high. 50 something I think. I'll check it later. I opened the vent 1/2 way. It may change too when I add the CA Grey eggs tomorrow. Now it's just got the single Leghorn egg in it, one week behind the Turkens. I hope I didn't get rid of viable leghorn eggs. I had 11, candled them and none looked remotely interesting except this one. I think it's just a lucky egg.

I need a nap. So now I won't touch the Hovabator until those Turken chicks are hatching. How will I survive?

How many eggs do y'all have going into lockdown?

I honestly don't worry much about humidity. It's so humid here already. I just usually keep both the wells half way full during incubation and fill them up completly with hot water when I go on lockdown. I forgot to do it this morning but I will need to go in and add a tube to it in the morning when I get off so that way I can fill the wells without opening it!!

I have 18 that went to lockdown!!

I have 4

partridge silkie/showgirl eggs that went into lockdown, good luck you two!!

ETA: while candling I discovered that all 4 of them are alive despite the power outage, yay!
