Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

I have a name for your quilt "Atlantic Stars" then you will have a lead as to why you named it that because you have some blocks that crossed the Atlantic and I bet most of us did least our ancestors did.

I can't believe how lovely it looks and quite forgot that I had made one of the blocks!
Very very clever using those half blocks, really pulls it all together.
Well done, give yourself a big pat on the back.

I'm glad you didn't need stitches, but the glue was a good idea, used it many times on myself, dogs and yes the chickens, saves a medical/vet bill

So now our blocks have the blood and tears (well maybe just a tiny one Ginbart) so where is the sweat,

Sorry my sick sense of humor is showing.
No blood I moved my hand so fast it didn't have time for one drop. lol I to have a sick sense of humor but some times they remove it on here.

I'm really bad about posting something I think is hillarious (on FB mostly though) at 3 in the morning on no sleep for the preceeding 20+ ish hours. Then my husband just shakes his head and mutters something to himself that I'm sure he would rather mutter to me. lol Occupational hazzard of sleep deprivation and a computer handy. lol

Lacyblues, Please let me be the first to say that quilt is fabulous! I am especially impressed by you idea of the half blocks for the border. Have you named and labelled the quilt? Well done, well done, well done. I can't say it enough times, I am in awe and so proud that I had a tiny part to play in your quilt. Thank you!

Awesome job on the quilt!!!!!

Lacy Blues WOW how beautiful your quilt turned out. I can actually name the block owners, wow is all I can say. I love the pillow case too. I second what majack is saying thank you for allowing me to play a small part in your quilt.

They really need a blushing smiley!

Thank you everybody for your kind words. This is only the second quilt I have ever finished. The first one was for my daughter about 16 years ago when she was around 4 years old.

I started a red white and blue one for my son about that time or shortly thereafter but it is still in packing boxes. I have the top put together and the back is patchworked with excess fabrics from the front. It is sandwiched and basted. I also made a Double Irish Chain for my husband. It is also sandwiched and basted. I guess I have convinced myself that I CAN finish them. I just don't want to work as hard on them as I did on this one... it's not last minute so that shouldn't be too difficult.

I took it to the laundromat today and washed it and tossed it in the dryer. Now it looks like a real quilt as the batting shrunk 2% (according to the package) and it's slightly crinkly at the sewn seams. Looks really nice. I stuffed it into a box already so it will be ready for tomorrow. When it's home and on his bed, I'll take another picture.

Lacy Blues, take a pic if you can of your red, white and blue I would love to see it as I am gathering fabrics to make one for my son who is in the Navy. What block did you use? I'm thinking of using the hunter star again, that was a pretty block. Maybe we should do another one but different colors?
