Falling Down Heights, my daily life

Pics
Little one that I found chilled in the coop is doing well now. Has a small injury on the bill, though.

No dead ducklings in the coop this morning!

Rescued egg is still making chewing motions, so will let be. The other egg I'd been incubating and thought might be dead pipped at the wrong end. I've gotten a lot of wrong enders from the MaticoopX.

Aylesbury is in a coop by himself for the time being. He's walking better too. I'll change his bandage later and reapply some Honey Silver. Poor boy. :(

Oh, and wild baby birds have fledged and left the nest!

Hoping these are the last three incubator babies! Chilled baby is doing amazing. Still in the incubator because I need to shuffle ducklings around and was not doing that in the rain! Which should be over early tomorrow afternoon.

Rescue egg hatched and is doing well, and so did the wrong-ender. So all three are in the incubator which I set for 85f. Up and exploring and eating and drinking.

The four ducklings in the nesting coop have been stolen by Mocha. She decided ALL the babies are hers. She did the same thing last year, lol. There are two very confused ducks in the coop though, the ones that actually hatched out three of the four ducklings. Probably for the best though as they are the first-timers that made me rescue so many eggs that they were 'helping' along.

Found one egg that had been pushed out of a nest and placed in a different nest. No one sitting on it and it was cold. I candled it and decided to warm it, but it was either dead or rotten. Tossed it into the forest.

Yesterday was Muscovy Drake Toss time. Cookie broke into the gooseling pen and tried to have his way with Winney. He was forcibly yanked off her and thrown halfway across the yard. Poor Winney was traumatized, and just huddled in my arms. I'd just brought Colt in for the night, and Cookie decided this was the time to strike. I was SO angry!

Due to the constant rain today (tail end of Beryl), I kept Winney and Colt inside. I don't think they appreciated it, lol!

I want this rain to end!!! Got soaked and covered in muck doing my chores this morning! I also really need to get some if these birds outside, but the temps have dropped too much.

I don't know if that's what caused it (coupled with the high humidity) but I found one of my outdoor ducklings dead in the brooder this morning. :(

On a happier note, here are the three latest ducklings:

'Chill' is the one on the right, you can see the wound on his bill. In the back is the rescued egg duckling, Barred for sure with that darker tail and bill compared to a white. And in the front, with tail feathers still curled to the side from being in the egg, is the wrong-ender who hatched himself without help. Not sure what colour Chill and W-E are, but they aren't whites either. It can be difficult to tell with some of the lighter colours when they're babies.

Over the top adorable Wind! ❤️

Picture heavy, so I'll put as attachments.

Just decided to take some pics of various plants/flowers this morning.

These are all 'wild' flowers growing around the property.
