Falling Down Heights, my daily life

Forecast calls for a WHOLE WEEK without rain! Damn, now I have to do outdoor work...

On another note, two juvenile Muscovy drakes are growing in their flight feathers and it's hilarious to watch them walk around with droopy wings! They're the only type of birds I ever saw have this issue.

I hurt all over. Been doing some yard work for the past couple of days. Yesterday, I cut down a bunch of dead branches on a large spruce tree, then proceeded to break all those branches down into firestarting kindling.

My hands are stiff and refuse to close without pain. Last night, I had muscle spasms in my forearm and the front part of my calf.

It took all my will power to get out there and do my morning chores.

Been having an issue with a mouse in my car, getting into the feed bucket (I keep feed in there since I can't use it right now due to needing brakes which I can't afford). So last night I put the bucket in, but with a few inches of water. This morning, the chickens had a treat.

A bluejay got caught in some netting around the duck pen. After a bit of a struggle, it calmed down as I extricated it gently. Poor thing. It flew off and cawed at me a few times. Not sure if it was in thanks or if it was scolding me!

I think you're correct
Makes me wonder if I should keep up this blog...

Thunderstorms and possible tornadoes this afternoon. I went out and gave the ducklings a bit more shelter, although the enclosure is mostly under large trees so they should be safe.

If it gets bad though, I'll need to run out and grab the geese. That's another thing on my to-do list, make them a proper house.
