Falling Down Heights, my daily life

Absolutely wretched day today! Well, okay, it could be worse but yesterday was above freezing so everything turned to mush. Overnight the temps dropped (and will keep dropping throughout the day, with high bitter winds) so the slush turned to ice.

Amazed I didn't fall! *knock on wood*

Spread out some fresh wood shavings in the pens so they don't freeze their toes off.
The day is still young Wind, stay warm up there and don't slip on any ice! :hugs

I know, I know, but that's the whole nature of ice. And I can't spread salt over it to melt it and refuse to use the so-called 'pet safe' chemicals.

During the rest of the year, I usually slip on wet grass.
i use sand .. a handful of sand in every spot i plan to step.

i’m afraid of metal spikes in case i accidentally step on a duck footy! or a goose footy! and i have a few times actually poor babies good thing no spikes
I never thought of this! Good point.

Oh! Forgot to mention! It's day 19 for the eggs! They've been in lockdown for the past three days.

Just candled them and three of the five have little ones pushing against the air cell. The other two still look fine though, so not expecting any issues.

Hopefully hear little peeps soon!!!
