No, she's a family physician. She has called on me to stare into my magical undergraduate crystal ball to try to predict what the temps and weather will be like in 10-20 years.Ok I am going to ask but you can clobber me if you like - is your daughter an environmentalist?
Asks the woman who loves her pipeline and mining jobs. And actually the amt of environmental care taken there is far more than one sees in any big city…. Like Ottawa

All I really have for her is that Ontario is subject to the mid-continent effect that is found around the world, where inland areas tend to have high temps in the summers and low temps in the winters, while coastal areas are typically more moderate. Lake effect is a real thing along the Great Lakes, though. I told her that they might want to look around the Lake Ontario (north) shore, but far enough east of Toronto to escape the crazy cost of living. (I keep looking at NB and other areas in the Maritimes, because I love coastal weather, but she immediately goes into Hurricanes!!! mode.)
It's all just a thought game, or mostly, starting from back during Covid when her patients were making death threats, to now when other people are threatening some of her patients with death.

How DARE you post a picture of that disgusting white stuff!!! Seriously though, snow is a four letter word.Family Dr are in high demand all over here. The Maritime’s have a huge demand. It were me, I’d go to Spainnice and warm, have a nice small town practice there…. Relaxing. No snow nice and warm. No snow. Sunny all the time no snow…..
Yep there’s a theme there! You guessed it I detest snow. Which is why I live in the snow belt - so I can torment myself for 5 months of the year!
@Canadian Wind knows - both of us spent all of last winter doing nothing but shovel snow
That’s not a drift that’s actual depth of snow on my cousins hubby

Run the clothes through a second time, if you can! Even without detergent.Went back up to the trailer on Thursday to pick up a bit more stuff. Still have lots to get, but I only had a small truck and wanted to bring back cages, which took up the whole bed.
I did get most of my clothing, which is now being processed in the poor abused washing machine. They hadn't been washed in a year, due to not having a working machine up there, and let me tell you THOSE ARE GROSS! The colour of the water is enough to make you want to be sick!
I have so many pairs of socks and underwear (because I would just buy more). Pants and shirts were worn until I couldn't stand the feel of them anymore. I did do *some* laundry, by hand, but with my arthritis that was not fun.
Soaked, double washed, and double rinsed!Run the clothes through a second time, if you can! Even without detergent.
