false Americauna?

Consider looking for a reputable local breeder instead of going with a hatchery. Hatchery birds are fine, but knowledgeable breeders will have birds that look much more like the breed they're supposed to be.
X2. And you will most likely place better if you get from breeders, because most 4-h kids order from hatcheries.
 
Roosters are chickens. A male chicken is a rooster and a female chicken is called a hen, or pullet if it is under a year old.
I was not implying that a rooster was not a chicken, I must have written chicken when I was thinking pullet. The original party of this thread is about a girl wanting to know if her bid was make or female, I was trying to ask rosiekitty94 what that bid ended up being.roo or pullet

The prior picture looks like a black australorp roster, this is my americauna rooster, beautiful red orange yellow, mean as a cuss due to a dog attack, but loves his girls.
