Oh. lolWe have a noisy pump in are tank but were so used to it and it sounds kinda nice so when we had the option of noise or no noise we picked noise
WOW! Thank you! Yea, we've dealt with ick before. It was pretty bad. Thank you for all the info! Poor baby! lol, lucky thing!im sorry i did not see where you asked me if the babies looked healthy!
yes i would say they look healthy.
about hte beggest thing to worry about is clamped fins, pretty easy to spot youll start out with one or two babies who hold there fins clamped tight and hte tails look like straight pins, they will seem slow and not very active. this can cause alot of grief and cause most of the other babies to die if not taken care of.
non one knows for sure what its caused from, but once you find a baby with a "pin" tail or clamped fins, take them right out and do away with them and do a 100 percent water change on the babies tank.
pin tail is somthing that will happen at least once if you start having litters of fry all the time and its....annoying since it doesnt matter how clean you keep the water, what type of food you feed, how big of a spce, temp ect doesnt matter itll happen at least once, sometimes it happens where youll loose a whole batch of fry, but not very often, just pluck out the one or 2 fry who begin shows symptoms and move on careing for the healthy fry
otherwise, ive NEVER seen ick in very young fry, ick is pretty common in juvies, just after they get there colors in at about 3 months old, youll probably deal with one or two cases of ick (white spots all over the body and fins) just grab some cheap ick medicine and folow the directions.
while ick is contagieous, its a naturally occuring parasite every fish has, ick only becomes a problem when a fishes immune system goes down (mostly caused by stress) the white bumps pop up if left untreated it can kill the fish, but dont feak out about ever stressing your fish out.
alot of people always told me to do small water cher)anges or risk stressing out my fish, i however did 100 percent water changes weekly, used no filters and no gravel just an air pump, while initially i lost more young fry from the large water changes, overall i had healthier fish who tolorated higher stress levels new moves, temp changes ect one of my juvinile males jumped out of the tank onto the floor, at the time i was wearing fake nails and tried to pick him up as gently as possible off the floor and ended up tearing his entire fin off (i felt so bad!) i thought he was going to die, but he didnt, his tail grew back in shorter and not as nice looking but he lived for approx 4 years, double the life span of most guppies. (including his mother)
