Thanks...we still have the original coop. I think will work for your 8. I started with 4 and now have 10 gals. Do you have pics of your gremlins and set-up? The ballet bar is great! You should see the girls in their toe shoes and tutus LOL

This is what you can barely see behind the apartment. I am using it as a storage room right now.

OK here goes: my fancy-schmancy super delux home made Chickie Townhouse and assorted gremlins. One of these days I have to upgrade these pics as the run has more playground equipment in it....

Ok...my Gretchen will be getting chicken shoes this month. She has a recurring bumble foot issue.

Are there slides and jungle gyms for your kiddos?

Heck, we've only just gotten over 70 degrees! What would I want with a fan?

On a more practical note, my coop/runs are set up under deciduous trees, so they get winter sun (what there is of it), and summer shade.

OOH THAT made me laugh out loud.........not quite...multiple branches strategicley placed for jumping and flying about. FAKE palm tree and sunflowers for ambiance...... The run is divided in half right now, 2 roos. In the second run I took some cut pieces of tree trunk and made this item......

There is also a FAKE palm tree and flowers in the run with that item. I love creating stuff.....Now I have a cinderblock wall and I LOVE what you did to your wall....HMMMMM....time to put my thinking cap on now........

We get the June glooms like the rest of the coast. Summer doesn't start until July here. Go ahead and plant that tree.

Now, I KNOW I need to move to Seattle! I was born and raised in S.C but the heat is starting to really get to me now. I find myself dreading the summers here. I think it is because I end up spending more time inside than outside during that time, which ends up going at least through September. Seattle sounds wonderful.
When we moved our 3 week old chicks outside, they immediately had a fan in their coop. I had to laugh when Lou Ann called the next morning and said she had to go out and buy herself a fan. She had taken the one in her bedroom and put it in the coop. Yep, she is hooked. Sacrificing for the chickens is a sure sign!

I have fans. This year I put a solar greenhouse fan out there to save money...

...then in hit 118 degrees on Friday. I had warning and put an extra fan out for them.
