Thank you so much. I’m not planning to breed any of them…just want eggs. Although if it’s a frizzle I’d be tempted to breed.Searching this site can locate a wealth of information. In a nutshell, they're prone to internal organ malformations (enlarged organs) and short lives due to poor health. Also lots of problems with feather breakage and very poor regulation of body temperature can lead to illness. Other chickens may pick on it since it looks different. Until you know the genetics you'd be passing on, I'd be cautious breeding that chicken. I've heard that responsible breeders avoid creating frazzles, because they often need to be culled. To me, it just doesn't seem fair to breed a chicken that doesn't have a shot at a healthy life. But your little guy is so cute, and I really hope he beats the odds!
Awe poor thingI finally remembered to take my phone out and get pictures of my new frizzle chick. It’s got a lot of bald areas, so now I’m wondering if this one might be a frazzle too. At first I just assumed it was getting plucked from being in the overcrowded TSC bin too long. I don’t know. I guess I’ll watch it and see. At least it seems pretty healthy at this point.View attachment 3131796View attachment 3131797
