Oh yeah this is the one you had separated and extra TLC for a while it molted so badly right?
No, sadly that was Honey and she passed away :-( she never made it through her molt 😢

Ms Frizzle has been almost naked since about June and finally refeathered last month :-/ she was the Puff (the rooster I had to rehome) favorite so he’d pulled out a bunch of feathers and broken a WHOLE lot more. So she’s been a sad chicken for months but never acted like it phased her one bit! Tough cookie! ❤️

I used to have this frizzle also. She lived many years.

Do frizzles take longer to grow in their feathers?? My frizzled polish is still growing her feathers (5 months) meanwhile her non polish friends are done
I don’t think it does, not in my experience at least. Even if it were a slow feathering bird, 5 months is a LONG time to not have completely grown them in. Do you have any photos showing how far feathered your bird is? I believe it takes time for birds to fill out, and maybe it take longer for polishes to get the complete crest(I don’t know though), but 5 months is still a while.

I think it’s a Polish thing…my frizzled Polish is 7 months old and still getting in feathers 🤦🏼‍♀️ And his brother is definitely done! My frizzled marans feathered in before a lot of my other chickens.

This is a thread for those who love frizzles!

I know frizzles aren't technically a breed but it's mainly aimed at frizzle cochins/pekins but any breeds with frizzle feathers are allowed! You don't have to own them to take part on this thread!
We can give eachother advice about raising frizzle chickens (with the weather and molting etc)

Rules:
All BYC rules apply!
  1. Be kind
  2. no frizzle hate! (Opinions and concerns are allowed)
  3. Respect people's questions and help them
  4. Reply to people's questions kindly
Off-topic chat is allowed! And pics are definitely welcome here!!!

Have fun!
My 4 week old frizzled Serama!
