Farm chatter

I think she might let me if they ate chicken food, stayed with the chickens, and laid a decent amount of eggs
Ducks can eat chicken feed, but they need a niacin supplement added to it or to their water. They may be able to stay with the chickens, but you may have problems if you have a drake.

First wing is about completely done.

I got 3 eggs this morning so I let everyone free range earlier than I have been lately (which is still later than they prefer haha)

I peaked in on my broodys nest when she was off to eat. I was just casually outside but a broody walks around with a particular posture and energy about her so I snuck over to her nest to count eggs & make sure no one else laid there.

she had 15 but one was a pullet egg so I pulled it so I could easily tell if other pullet eggs showed up

Ooh, so it could be done? Can the chickens eat niacin too? I would probably not have a drake, do they lay decently?

It's just based on the farms/farmers markets that I've seen there and my experience in those states.

I did not yet find out if they are boys or girls, and I don't think I'll listen to ChLcken.
