Spent some quality time with the flock today.
Me: *opens door to run to let chickens into the yard
chickens: FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~5 minutes of peaceful sitting pass~
chickens: GUESS WHAT MY FAVORITE FOOD IS
chickens: IT"S THE FLAKES OF PAInT THAT CAME OFF YOUR HOuSE WHEN YOU POWERWASHED IT
chickens: THEY"RE ALL OVER THE YARD THIS IS GREAT
me, shooing them away from the paint: no don't eat that babies no no no it's not good for you
chickens, running back and eating more paint: IT COULD BE VERY GOOD FOR US YOU DON"T EVEN KNOW
me: ....I think you've had enough playtime today.
~i then spent 10 minutes luring them back in with real treats~
me: *shuts door
chickens: YOU HAVE BETRAYED US YOU EVIL FIEND

I need to get Mango a tiny Christmas outfit. Shes sooo small so it will probably be difficult.
Pics are mandatory. Please.
Also, MysteryChicken what would the cross of cream legbar rooster x buff Orpington hen yield? I know it would be an Olive egger but do you know what the offspring would possibly look like? If you don’t know that’s okay. I’m just clueless on chicken genetics. :th
Okay, so this is a lot of guesswork.
BUT.
I'm like 80% sure that Bielefelders and CCL have the same feather patterns. I know they are both autosexing.
So... a sex-linked cross with a biel would be the same as one with a CCL (probably?).

I know biels are barred and gold. So if you have a CCL roo over silver females you should get the RSL cross. You could also cross a non-barred rooster over a CCL hen and get the BSL cross.

That is, if biel and CCL have the same genetics.
I don't know all the genes at play with the legbar.
They look wild type based some are more cream, some are more silver in color.

So, Cream Legbar Rooster X Buff Orpington would result in Crele looking offspring.

I'm not sure if the Roosters are double, or single Barred, but if they're double Barred all offspring will be Barred.

If they're not double Barred then some of the offspring will be solid in color.
Wow. You are good at this.

Chickens definitely talk in all caps at all times.
Today Tillie flew up on the crosspiece of the run and stood right in front of where the handle is on the door, but on the inside. This prompted this conversation:
me: you know you can't get out that way right??
tillie: I THINK I CAN
me: there's no handle on the inside
tillie: ACTUALLY I PUT ONE ThERE
me: you don't even have thumbs, how are you going to use the handle
tillie: I COULD HAVE SECRET THUMBS YOU DON"T EVEN KNOW
tillie: *has given up and is trying to get down
me: are you stuck
tillie, nervously: NO
tillie: NOT STUCK

Tillie did find her way down and looked pretty embarrassed.
