To me, it is never ok to lose any.Well if you get a lot of chickens because you have a whooping 21 acres, it is okay to loose a few.
I'm getting about 12-13 Saipans next spring. Both as chicks, & eggs for hatching. I'll be starting with about 4-5 Sumatras. I need to get more pullets. My one Sumatra "Pullet" is a cockerel. So I have 2 cockerels, & 1 pullet Sumatra.I think that 15-16 is about 30 ish total? But my question was, are you going to start with like 5 birds in each side then add more, or are you going to start with 15-16 on each side and be at max capacity from the beginning?
I personally cannot go through deaths like that. The chickens mean so much to me, it’s harder than it should be.Well if you get a lot of chickens because you have a whooping 21 acres, it is okay to loose a few.
It would be SO stressful for me! It's so dangerous! Why?
They’d be gone in one day! Why?
You are so luck to have that much land you could have so many birds! I only have a whooping 1 acre! Big whoop.*shudder*
Never
Not all of my land is open. Part of it is woods. You are so luck to have that much land you could have so many birds! I only have a whooping 1 acre! Big whoop.

But if you have say hundreds on your land, it would be okay to loose a few. They wont all get eatten and if you have a dog, it will protect the flock, so will a rooster but not as good. They’d be gone in one day!
