Nope! I have a naked neck rooster and I had a Australorp rooster but something got him. My hens are mostly leghorns but I have a golden wyndotte and a few randoms

28 out of 40 hatched and are doing great. I had 3 that couldn't make it out all the way and ended up dying. And 9 that never peeped

Yes, I had 5 hatch yesterday and six have pipped today. This is so much fun. I'm glad my neighbors wanted more chickens because my husband was beginning to wonder how many chickens he was going to end up with.

I hope I have a better hatch than I did last time. Actually I was pretty pleased with the chicks I got, but there were 6 eggs that didn't hatch. I didn't do an eggtopsy on them. This is such a learning experience. I did a dry incubation which meant that my humidity was 40-45%. I didn't have to add any water. So far, so good. The temp was very consistent at 100º. Now I'm into the hatch and kept the humidity between 60 and 75%. Then the chicks started to hatch and the humidity went to 80%. I hope I didn't drown them. Keeping the humidity at a good level is my greatest challenge. This time I washed the eggs. We have a gentleman that works for Tractor Supply that knows a lot about hatching chickens. He said not to wash the eggs and to buff them with some sort of paper to get the chunky stuff off of them. Different folks, different strokes. I don't know. I appreciate all of you out there who have track records to support your points. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
