Good luck with those 'taters! I really wanted to plant some this season, but I ran out of room. Now we have plans to expand the garden to twice it's current size. I have a feeling I'm going to wish for more space than that, but we'll see. It seems I'm not any better with 'garden math' than I am with 'chicken math'. (Or 'turkey math' lol, because you're right, I did get more.) So there's a fair warning for ya...garden math'll get ya too, especially if you set the garden up right in the first place.

And I'll have you know that I passed by the feed store like 20-some odd times last week all the while knowing there were some cute Ameraucana's in there just begging to come home with me! I really wanted them. But, I've been strong. I've got plenty of birds. Definitely don't need more...

I wonder if they're still there?? LOL.

You better beat feet down there and see!!!!!....lol. There's a piece of me that I'll never get back because I didn't bring home a lionhead bunny from the feed store that they had shaved to look just like a lion. I find myself crying in the corner almost daily because of it! You don't need that! You go get you some Ameraucana's! If there is doubt, you buy it...it's when you know for sure you can't get it is when you don't..... hehehehehhahhhaahahehh ......Just Jokin around!...

Go get them though.....lol.

My first taters ever...aren't they the cutest little things...

. I have a couple rows and another little spot of them. I can't believe they grew...

Yes, I am experiencing garden math...and everything math!!! Those taters are planted in what was a lot for cattle and horses....should be very fertile soil. I'm moving all my pens back and making bigger gardens...lol. In that lot now is tomatoes, potatoes, ducks, oak trees I'm starting from acorns that I had moist in the fridge all winter and soon pumpkins....
big_smile.png
. The squash have their own new garden this year, etc, etc...FUN! FUN! Still jealous of your orchard!!!

Seems my incubator keeps getting eggs added to it also...lol. I go get my Berkshire boar tomorrow. He's just a little weaned guy.....can't wait...pig math..

. Big day of planting today in the gardens!!!!

Took some pictures of the chicks today. They're really starting to like their outdoor time. They run and jump around like maniacs. When I put them back in the house, they all crash and take a long nap.

Ah, geez! I should have known you and the 'lil devil on my shoulder would team up against me and the 'lil angel on my other shoulder! lol
No fair! I'm weak!! Weak, I tell you! I was able to resist stopping in when I passed by today, but I did break down and call them to see if the chicks are still there. (They are.) I don't think I can risk daily bouts of corner-crying, so I guess I'm buying chicks tomorrow.

Those 'taters are lovely, for sure. I'm jealous! I should have found the space for them this year. Dang it. Looking at your list of 'haves' and 'wants' and mine, if we were neighbors, we'd have just about everything covered!
I might be overstating by calling my fruit tree collection an orchard. I've got maybe 20 or 25 trees...i think it's more of a wannabe orchard. lol. But, just wait...my orchard math is as good (or bad) as my chicken math! We're planting more trees tomorrow, and I've got a growing list of new varieties to order.

Very Pretty!

Adorable babies! I love the fluffy butt!

Very nice pics, Mitch!

Awesome little chicks, Sanna! Looks like a good time watching them play! I imagine you have, but have you searched Mandarin ducks on youtube? ...some really neat videos on them and they are funny how they zip about......
big_smile.png
. Looks like they are about $25 a duckling around here....I'll have some one day too!....lol. I have their enclosure pictured in my head.

Yeah, if we were neighbors, AccidentalFarm, the grocery stores could close down and we wouldn't even know it.....
big_smile.png
. I'm just doing some late researching and a little..sniffle sniffle...OH LION BUNNY...sniffle...WHERE ARE YOU LION BUNNY?????.....
lol.png
. That's funny you might go get them tomorrow!....lol. Grab some bunnies tomorrow, too...
big_smile.png
. It's about to get silly here with bunny math. I'd call that an orchard. I'm going to call mine an orchard and I probably won't have close to that many...
big_smile.png
. Awesome you are planting more!

from today....a lot like what I've posted before...

Oh my! The person who said coming to this thread is like a vacation is spot-on! Wonderful photos & I love seeing everyone else's little patches of Earth :)

I am so bummed that I missed out on the rabbit chat a couple weeks ago! I read it all but wasn't about to try and type a response with my phone. All I can remember is wanting to say that (in general) Hollands are one of the most competitive breed out there, if not the most competitive. There is an advantage though.. and that is good stock is easier to come by :) (sorry that whole comment sounds super random now)

I took my camera to work the other day
