I am proud and mortified at the same time...

our new coop is coop picture of the week!!!!! so cool!

But I am embarrassed that the photo is so blurry. if i'd known they wanted to use it I'd have given them a better photo...

oops, it is gone now...but glad I noticed it while it was up there.

That is cool! Dang, I missed it! I love looking at people's coops. I need to build a few.

Great pictures!! Love the baby goats.
What are the little birds, quail? I've always wanted a few, just know nothing about them. lol What do you do with quail??
You are really something!! Those animals are lucky to have you.

Thanks! The baby goats love to climb all over me now! It's awesome!...

Yes, those are quail. I knew nothing of them either a couple months ago...now have about 100....lol. I find the quail pretty interesting! They kinda make neat little pets...most of mine are very tame and friendly. They're another source of sustainable food/protein and super easy to process. Their eggs have AWESOME flavor and are packed with good juju...lol. ....BUT MAN CAN THEY POO....

. They mature very fast. Although mine don't seem to mind me at all, the ones in high traffic areas halt the laying of the eggs all together.....so I'm experimenting with that.....and they do slow down in the winter anyway, but having cats climbing on the cages and turkeys gobbling right in their ears seems to stress them...lol.

Neat, warm, friendly animal photos you posted! Snarf for president...lol. Have you figured out what gender Snarf is? I've seen enough bunny bits lately that I believe I have it down on knowing what is what....pretty easy really on most once you've seen enough...

First.....I'm surprised how many of you don't like the cold. Don't any of you enjoy growing a massive beard, like Duck Dynasty massive beard, then coming in from below zero weather just to look in the mirror to see what ice crystal formations have taken shape on your whiskers??? It's one of the most awesome things in life....

Can't say I've ever had the opportunity to grow a beard.

I like cold, but I'm a CA native, so my cold is different than your cold. Your cold I would call frigid.

I don't have much use for heat unless I have a pool nearby. When it gets over 100 it's just miserable - even in a "dry" heat.

We went to Wyoming once on a trip in May. The wind was unbelievable. We had full winter coats on and felt like we were going to freeze to death at any minute. We went into a restaurant for dinner, and all the locals were in shorts and t-shirts.

It occurred to us that we probably looked pretty pathetic.

Since I grew up here in Florida, I am very sensitive to the cold, but I agree 70 is not chilly that is very nice weather. I think in Hawaii it stays around 72 just about year round.

I still like our very hot summers here. 90 deg or 100 is great. I love the sun. I am fine with sweating a lot, but I just don't like shivering a lot and not being able to feel my fingers and toes.
Same here don't mind being hot, hate being cold. I think 70 is on the chilly side though.

I'm pretty certain Snarf is a girl. I looked at enough pictures online, I think, that I can tell the difference. LOL Looked at a bunch of the other baby bunnies too before they went to their new homes. They all seem to be girls. OR. I just don't know what I'm looking at.

I agree 3acres,

I love to be out in the cold when dressed for it. I used to walk year round in all types of weather but I think I got cured . So I have quite a collection of stuff for everything winter can throw at'cha, neoprene face masks, ear warmers, neck gators, gloves, gloves inside mitten stuff,

I have waterproof snow pants but didn't know you were supposed to go up a size, to wear them over thermal underwear. So I just use the snow pants alone. I love the LLbean fleece lined jeans - I've used them for years, sadly I go up a size each time. I always say I'm not ordering a bigger size - I have to diet to fit them. But, when jack frost is nipping I relent.

Heat is a different animal, I can't take mid 80's, even above 70 makes me uncomfortable. 40's and 50's are good . I hate the sun boring down on me, I always feel it's burning my hair, and face- even in winter. Overcast is just fine. Other than heat & humidity, I always head for the outdoors. I feel invigorated when its cool to cold and I love to see what's going on around me. It's not the same sitting inside looking out a window.

Sorry - I'm babbling and I can't shut up. Time for bed. Be back tomorrow.

I hear ya! I really like the cold weather version muck boots. I have a wool coat that I just wear a t-shirt under and sweat like crazy. I do wear a flannel or thermal Henley type thing if I'm going to be riding a horse for very long. ...face mask deal and a stocking hat...I put the jeans away and wear sweat pants under the lined jogging wind pants....good gloves....bring on the cold....

I like the heat. It gets over 100 doing small square bales of hay every year. I hate to guess what the temp gets to in the hay barn...

(go away mysterious 2 line deals...lol)

.....hang in there, work hard and some day you'll get that beard! Things worth having....ah, I'll stop being dumb...lol.

One of the coldest times I've experienced was at a rodeo in Cody, Wyoming....in June...lol....I was not dressed for it. My brother ended up moving to Wyoming for a bit. He would joke how there in Wyoming you didn't see trash cans getting blown down the streets, you seen the huge two lid dumpster deals blowing end over end down the streets the wind was so bad...
