Sweet silly ducklings. Jewel can not figure out why they can not learn to scratch or dust bathe.

I haven't been taking many pictures lately. Work has been so hectic. Farm equipment is all falling apart at the same time. Field trip season is here, we've had a field trip almost every day of the week. We just had our annual Halloween party. We've had horse shows. Aaaand I was able to fit in one poultry show too Sunday! lol Which is where I got my first pair of bantam Sumatras! I've been searching of bantam Sumatras for a long time now and was lucky enough to find a lady that was willing to part with a pair and she was coming to the same show. Perfect!!

Here they are! They're only 4 months old. Soooo cute!

They haven't come out of the coop yet. lol And I'm ok with that, at least they'll know where the safe place is when they DO decide to step outside. I named them Dexter and Debra. hehe

My little Spitfire finishing up her turn out hay. She's starting to look like so grown up. It's amazing how the time flies. And it's amazing how little she looks in this picture. She looks like a large pony, but she's really 15.2 hands tall! lol

My BEST OF BREED girl, Blackie Chan the Ninja Chicken practicing her ninja skills. lol Very excited how well my Orp girls did at the show.

Big Bertha was RESERVE OF BREED.

And Spot..... Well, I think Spot gets the "Worst Molt Ever" award.

And my newest Orpington, a 17 week old pullet, Elvira. I've had her for 2 weeks now. She's still a little confused at times. LOL Trying to get used to her new surroundings and friends. The flock accepted her as a part of the group pretty quickly. She mostly hangs out with our white PQ non-bearded Silkie hen. She's nice. The big Orp girls still chase Elvira around a tiny bit, but hopefully they'll get over it soon.

And that's it for today.

In that one picture it looks Like Blackie Chan is levitating - then you notice she has one leg holding her up. Neat trick. She must have bedazzled the judge. Love the lacing on Big Bertha. You have some dang gorgeous stock, and photograph them so well. Okay I love Spitfire too, and the rest.

Thank you

I can't take any credit for my flock, other than just feeding them and general care. LOL I bought my Orpingtons from a good breeder when they were itty bitty chicks. But maybe next year, when I hatch out of my current flock, I can take tiny bit of credit for those chickies.

Yes, I agree. I think Blackie Chan bedazzled the judge. With her ninja skills!

I like the last photo with the rooster peaking out like "is it safe to come out?" Maybe the girls have been giving him a bad time, for a change.

Here is a cake my wife decorated for our first ever Lebanon Valley Poultry Fanciers show. I am impressed!
