We have an ac but it only seems to cool the bedroom(To the point that you wake up freezing). I really need to get a fan for my office -_-How did you handle the heat without AC today Camille? You are lucky it's breezy there.. but still.. this heat was disgusting. One of my rabbits looks about dead from heat exhaustion![]()
I'd love to wake up freezing. Just get more blankets. Nice and cozyWe have an ac but it only seems to cool the bedroom(To the point that you wake up freezing). I really need to get a fan for my office -_-
I've sprayed her down with tepid water. Cold water would send her into shock. Doing the ears is the most important part I have read. That is how they regulate their body temperature - through their ears. You can dunk a over heated rabbit up to its neck in cool tap water.
She is lop eared, so no problems thereThat's why I said cool, not cold. Problem with wetting their ears is then you up with water in their ears. After 40 years of raising rabbits, we've seen a lot of heat stroke in Texas.
Another option is rubbing alcohol to the paw pads and outsides of the ears.
No I don't, but next heat wave I will consider it. Tomorrow is supposed to be much better, and right into the weekend just in the high 70's and 80's. I think they should be fine after tomorrow.. At least for a week.Do you give them frozen bottles? I run misters in my barn. As well as fans. Since yours are loose, I would hang a mister hose about cheat high through the trees they hang in. I do that for my chickens and horses b
