Ok, so I didn't die!!

It's just been work work work and more work AND driving to Rhode Island on my day off to work with 4 REALLY nice Arab mares. Someone really needs to add more hours to the day! lol

I adopted a cat. As you can see, she's very cozy already. This is kitty number 5. I still question my sanity at times....but bringing this cat home was the best thing I ever did! lol Lily here and my youngest, Lucy (aka Rat) are getting along really well. They run through the house like a hurricane. It all starts at 5am.

Then I hatched 5 peachicks!! One died.

It was always very weak. But the other 4 are thriving! I have to take some pictures of them. This is the oldest one, a day old. They're almost 2 weeks old now. Cutest things ever! lol

What else... We got a new goat at the farm. I think it's a pygmy goat? She's blind in one eye. Supposedly, she is staying with us for the winter, and the owners will come back for her in the spring to take her back to the camp where this goat was a part of a program for kids. We'll see. I have a feeling that this little girl will be staying with us for good. Either way, she's a very nice little goat. I kidnapped her today and brought her in my yard on my lunch break. LOL

Miss "Ima Big Girl" was very interested in the goat.

And to continue on the "dropped off animals" theme...someone brought this little hen to us today. Apparently someone had dumped this chicken somewhere, whatever that means? The people that found her, brought her home but their chickens kept picking on the poor girl, so she's here now.
hmm.png
So far, she's getting along with my Cochins. Looks like an Araucana, but she doesn't have the ear tufts....so I guess that makes her an easter egger?

Well, that's it for now.

I love your fence! If the electric im installing doesent work im tottally stealing this idea :). Is that stock panel your using?

Hey all you great photographers, they are looking for chicken pictures for the 2014 Backyard Chickens calenders. Dig through your shots (or take some new ones) and submit them to that thread. You can only choose two - that's important! If you don't follow the instructions the submissions are disqualified.

I'm having a blast watching these little things grow!...

I think I'll have some with color in this litter.
They're getting fur.

Oh, I might need those animal hoarder people here pretty soon. LOL I have 15 eggs in the incubator also. Forgot to mention those.

I think we're on day 7 now. I'll have those little critters in the house too then...

Maybe I'll give some to the hens. ALL of my Silkie hens have gone broody. All of them!!
barnie.gif
There are only 5 adult hens, but stil... Why do they all have to do it at the same time? lol

Yes, they used stock panel for the fencing. It has the electric also, you just can't see the tape from my angle. lol Dear Ima is good at just pushing through a fence to get to the grass on my side of the yard. Or on the road side of the farm. Not cool.
th.gif
I'm afraid she'll end up directing traffic on the road some day. The electric fencing obviously needs to get fixed. It hasn't been working lately.

Just two pictures??? How do you pick only two shots? lol

Everyone should share the two they chose here just so we can see. Even if you've already showed them before.

These are the two I chose.

Yes, ONLY TWO!!! That is a problem for a lot of people!!!

I have always loved this shot with her "human" eyes!!! It has been one of my all time favorites! I noticed a lot of people have said that about her eyes. I think my other favorite of your pictures (of chickens - since I can't include the baby llama or is she an Alpaca?) was I think three barred rock maybe? Standing together in dappled shade. There was an optical illusion that made their feathers look like moving ripples.
