Birdrain Gelbviehs sound like a great breed!! I ike the Tarentaise bcuz they r a Dual prpse breed that were bred for high climates in France. Do u have pics of any of your bulls? I am hoping to be able to start a breeding herd of Tarentaise one day through AI so I can have 2 herds to breed from.

I'm hoping my pictures are good enough to post here - I'm just starting to learn about photography, and right now I just have a point and shoot camera.

Gelbviehs are a dual purpose breed that were bred in Germany. They have very good milk quality for their calves to grow big and fast and have small calves. They are amazing. I'm hoping to buy another registered heifer and I will AI both registered heifers that way I can have a herd of registered Gelbviehs and then I would have my non registered calves but know they are Gelbviehs but separate the blood line so I'm not line breeding. This is our Gelbvieh bull along with our balancer bull that is my bull calf's father.

This is our bull when we bought him. The guy we bought our Gelbvieh bull from has lots of Gelbvieh and Angus bulls. His Gelbviehs wear green ear tags. That's the main reason I have green ear tags that way I already have that color in my cow's ear and I hope to keep Gelbviehs only since they are my favorite breed.

This is the Balancer bull.

Birdrain, I know I am always pestering you with questions so here goes another one. What is a "balancer," in this case bull. Is it an outcross to bring in new lines?
