This is Spice.

And this is Sandy who decided she wanted kids during the winter. (At least im in Florida) She is 9 months and started laying before her SF littermate, at around 6 months i believe. Sandy is currently laying on Spice's egg which will be an ee/sf mix, can't wait to see it. Spice started laying about a month ago and is also 9 months.

Sandy at 6 months: ( also before she was broody for a a better picture. )

I'm aware of Sandy's yellow feet and beak she came from tsc and im aware they dont always sell top tier chicks or whatever, but im happy to have sandy as she is still gorgeous.

I’ve recently purchased four Faverolles pullets to help boost my breeding base and I’m hoping to get a quality male fairly soon. Spring is in September, so I have some time yet.

I have learned enough to realise how little I know! It’s been tricky to find good information on how to create a nice Faverolles. I’ve been trying to soak up information on the parts that Faverolles are reknown. But so much to learn! Thankfully I find genetics fascinating!

I’m reluctant to do dual mating, as I want to be true to their history as a utility bird. However, I want a pretty bird as well as a functional one! Hopefully I can find my way to doing both acceptably.

I’m waiting on the Aussie version of the SOP. There will be a show local to me in June, so I’ll plan to try showing birds for the first time. I’m sure I’ll be able to get some constructive advice.
