Faverolles Thread

Hello. I have a few well trained gladiators. Faverolles Eatawormus was victorious in this video, but others are eager to combat again. Will he hold his title? We will see.

Hi guys just wanted to let you know that I am starting a lavender salmon project using D'uccles. Some one else will also be using some of my Lav D'uccles over his black faverolles to creat pure lavenders. So hopefully in a year or so I will be offering some project lavender salmons. I don't have any lavs old enought to breed anyone know of someone who want to sell me an adult lavender D'uccles male?

I am going to be hatching and keeping only salmons and not blue salmons for this project. PM me if you want to learn some more about it. It should be a ton of hard work and culling but will also be fun and have a beautiful end product!

I am excited too...of the 6 chicks from you, there's only 1 that I KNOW is a roo, and there is 1 more I'm still not sure on, so I have plenty of girls for my project! I'm glad I got at least 1 boy too, so I can do male favs x female mf d'uccles, and vice versa...hopefully having both options will get me there a LITTLE faster, though I know for this type of project, it's going to be a LONG road...

Just curious...Has anyone ever trimmed a Faverolle's muff under his eyes? My Faverolle Roo is always being bullied by the others. I decided that much of his problem was that he could not see due to the fuzz in obscuring his sight. I finally trimmed his muff back a bit and now its a little better for him. He acts like he can see much better. He is normally very friendly toward me but I had noticed he would strike at me if I tried to pet or pick him up to cuddle him. I wondered if it was because he thought at first that I was one of the other roos attacking him. Since I trimmed his muff he stopped acting aggressive toward me and is standing up to the others more than I have noticed in the past.

It is not that unusual for them to get their muffs in their eyes. Good idea to trim them once in a while if you think it is interfering his vision or changed his temperment.

Henry, Lavender Faverolles.....now that is something I might endevor in! Do let me know what the resulting chicks look like!
