Faverolles Thread

thanks SpeckledHen, i'm glad i missed whatever was going on.

Peter, i have to laugh that someone was looking for that many birds at once from a breeder! if you want that many all at once call and order from a hatchery that sells adult birds too!

i take it she wanted them the next day from your conversation too?

i thought it was someone else at first that did something. but it is in the past and no more talk of it.

whatever it was.

my new roo has been so sweet! i just went out to check everyone and i noticed he was standing over his lady being very protective while she had laid her egg. but he allowed me to take it from them with no fuss. i've had 5 eggs out of her since i brought her home last saturday, 3 in the last 3 days! they have both become accustomed to seeing me coming with treats and will take food from my hands. i need to get pics of them both! sometime this weekend i'll get them.

Sorry from me too... certainly wouldn't want to upset anyone... I was really just having a whine about the PO... Maybe I shouldn't whine... Life is pretty good

Henry- I'm still waiting to hear how the hatch finished... I got 12 chicks from 15 eggs... not exactly thrilling... (they were mine).

I also got some wonderful eggs in the mail today... some Mahogany Favs... Lucky me! Woot:D

I got 3 chicks from 8 eggs not bad for being shipped from WA. I am happy they are adorable! 12 isn't bads at all. I have 11 silver penciled rock bantam eggs developing and 8 lavender Duccles along with 2 butterscotch project and 2 millie fluer eggs. Next week I am setting 18 danvers in BBS, Quail, Blue Cuckoo, and Mottled. Hope your mahoganies hatch well and you can use the dark hens with them.

Two of my girls are Mahogany... I have them in with the Ameraucanas now (easy to tell their eggs apart) and not breeding. I will add them to what ever comes of this group.

Very, very happy me!

DH is flipping over having to have more chicken space... I may just add on to the barn.... that seems the easiest.

Off to work on updating my website... Nite Henry!

ive only shipped eggs 3 times so far but to me it has defanetly worth the extra doller to get the traking #... all mine arived on time and im just hoping for the ppl that got them to get a good hatch...

ohh and dont use the flat rate boxes to ship eggs lol they are not heavy enuf to make it worth your time it was 4 dollers cheaper to ship the same number of eggs(30) in a normal box lol...

Can I ask a really stupid question?
I received 3 fav's in my hatchery order and one has a large black dot on its shoulders. I'm assuming it doesn't mean anything? I'm going to sell 2 so I need to know which one to keep LOL. They're just a few days old, so the dot is just down, not actual feathers.
They're really sweet chicks so far, and my first with feathered legs
