Faverolles Thread

Crazy snow y'all are having Dick. Guess it wouldn't help if I fanned some of this 58 degree air in your general direction?? Don't see how y'all do it!!!

Thanks Peter!! I will definitely try all that. I already spritz the eggs occasionally but not with any regularity. Mostly just if I open the bator for some reason. Thanks so much!!

what the amount of snow? we once had storm so bad we got 80+ cm of snow (40 or so inches) this was one storm, the closest place that had power was 45 min away... ahh when i was little (ok ok about 10 years ago )

Double sheesh!! Yes. We get an inch or 3 and schools close and people call in to work etc.

I was raised in Michigan, Detroit area so grew up with snow but I've become accustomed to the south and warmth! I hate cold. I like snow but not so much or lasting do long. Plus this is the first year I actually remember getting good actual snow. It's usually sleety/icy mix that just freezes and tears down power lines, trees, etc.

it was down to -30 c here todays ago... wow our school board has only closed school once this year (due to power outage) they sent us home early twice though

We got 6.5 inches and they still sent us to school I was MAD!

But anyway here is my question relating to Favs. My mom says that I should try a new breed because I will have to thin out when it comes to college time so I need to try something new. I've been stalking this thread for awhile and wondered if any of you more experienced breeders knew of any one in Indiana or Illinois with Favs. I'm just looking for Salmon LF, nothing fancy. Just looking for some nice breeding stock so that I can show and breed them for a year or two before I have to thin down to just the best of the best.

Hang in there Dick, spring is right around the corner. It better be warmer when I go to Georgia next week. At least above freezing. I haven't seen that here for a long time. Praying for 50's.
