Faverolles Thread

Can I get a quick opinion on these bantams? I've never hatched out any, so I'm not quite sure what to think of them. Thanks!

This one looks more like an LF bird, but he's the same height as the other one.

And here's a photo of my recessive white faverolle (Large Fowl). He's so young, but he is such a sweetheart. He's from Karen Polly's flock. I think I'm going to try using him with my dark hens this year, and see what I get.

I love the white one...stunning.

I also have a question about gender on my 3 young ones. They are just shy of 3 weeks old. When their wing feathers came in at around 2 weeks, I was sure they were pullets, but now......not so sure. sorry if the images aren't the best, i'm a hopeless photographer

Today has been so terrible! I got home from school today to find my banty rooster dead. ): I dont know why he died, he has nothing visibly wrong with him. He might have just died naturally, he was 2 years old. He was in a crate with his favorite girl, so there should be no chance of poison or foul play. He was gorgeous though, and possibly even from imported lines. D:

All I have left are these two roos, a pullet, and a half-dozen eggs in the incubator to pass on his genes. And he was my first rooster too! ):

So sorry to hear about you losing your roo.

but glad to know you have his genes in your bator.
If one has chickens long enough, one always loses that first roo. It's sad, but part of the process.
Good luck with your 6 eggs in the bator!!!
