Misty - Sorry my old boy isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but I'm sure I'll have some youngsters that will grow up just as nicely. Well I hope so anyway. And you aren't THAT far away!!!
Debbie - You'll love them!!
To all..... I hope eveyone will consider again sending something to Leisha or bringing it to nationals if you are coming to donate to the raffle table for the club fund raising raffle. It is a great way to raise money for the club for some even better prizes next year. I'm working on more prizes to donate but so far will be donating a few sets of my homemade goats milk soaps. Also feel free to donate to the prizes for the winners of our show. Even small money prizes add up. Send $10-$15 to be given to the Jr with the best of breed or the Best Salmon cockerel, or the Open best pullet. Just whatever.... support the club!!!! OK I'm done begging again!!!
Misty that boy you like is a guy I got directly from Leisha, so the credit on that one is hers!
Kristip - she is very young still. Laying will be at approx 6 or 8 months maybe?? Ive got SF LF youngsters also but others I'm sure will chime in. I'm just going by my other LF. She will only walk on those three bottom toes, the fourth and fifth are "ornamental".
newtofarming - I'm gonna let others answer this one as I'm just growing out my first year of youngsters. Depending on who you talk to some prefer the darker backs, others prefer lighter. These are just getting adult feathers and will change significantly and everyone will agree with that. Give them a while to finish feathering (lots dont cull for color until 8ish months) and if all else fails refer to your Standard Of Perfection. It is the "bible".
As i was coming home from work this afternoon the radio had Garrison Keilor, Prairie Home Companion from the Minnesota State fair. I turned on just as he was introducing Dwayne Urch with a black Polish and a Hodelin Hawkins???? with a Jap. Silkie. He asked alot of questions and it was a fun bit of the Fair....later he spoke with some of the food judges. eliz
4 month old lavender Faverolle rooster for sale....anyone interested please send me a pm.
I'm located between Sullivan County and Orange County New York.
Got two salmon pullets today from a local breeder. They aren't going to be breeders although they are alright. They are just gonna be pets until I get room to go into LF.

Thanks! I have seen both also and wasn't sure which to strive for when breeding. These guys will soon be ready. I have read the standard but I am a visual person and I need to see it! LOL But I think both my boys are cute and the one with the more white on his back is the more dominant one of the two.
