James Patterson, Ann Rule, C.S. Lewis, Janet Dailey (Calder Series), Michael Creighton, Tim Miller. I am sure there are more just can't think of them at the moment. As a kid loved the Boxcar Children, and the books about Cowboy Sam, spent way to much time on Ebay gathering those books, lol.

Rober Jordan...hands down. Although he passed this past fall, leaving the final book of his series incomplete. I dont know how anyone will be able to compete with the amazing thoughts he can put into words!

Elizabeth Berg, but I read a lot of NF books, too.

I love James Herriot and loved going to Thirsk and seeing where he lived/worked.

I admire J.K. Rowling for getting kids excited about reading. Who would have imagined kids anxious to read a 900 page book!

OH and I both read a lot. We probably have two thousand books.

definately Jane Austin and when I was a kid I read all the books in the "all creatures great and small" series but I cant remember who wrote them. When I had the time I would always read a book when the movie came out, like Little Women, Ya Ya Sisterhood (which is suprisingly UNlike the movie) and Bridget Jones Diary. Not much time to read anymore. Ive picked up some very good books in the check out line of the grocery store by unknown authors.

Just saw previous post, James Herriot wrote all creatures great and small i think

I like anything bloody/gory/horror.....vampires are a HUGE bonus. I also love non-fiction because I feel we can never stop learning. My two faves are Anne Rice, John Saul, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Robin Cook...oops, I may read well but I can't count. I love, love, love to read. Am currently reading a compilation of 14 Stephen King short stories.....borrowed it from my 10 y/o. Books are a HUGE part of our life. I have read to the boys since before they were born. They are all avid readers. My husband loves to read as much as the rest of us I know it helps the boys to see both parents with a love of books. As for my kids, my 10 y/o and 6 y/o have the highest reading level in their class, my 8 y/o is the second highest. Makes a mom proud.
