Back in the 1970's my dad and grandpa hatched quail and phesant as a side job. They told me that they would refridgerate the eggs for up to two weeks, and then set them in the incubator. They hatched alot of birds too! I have also read that eggs will last up to two weeks as long as they are kept around 50 degrees. After two weeks hatchability declines drastically.
that's another reason if you are shipping hatching eggs it is best to do it during colder months. the eggs will still make it if they are handled properly and if the weather doesn't get below freezing.

I have SQ Salmon Faverolles and breeder quality Ameraucanas...I've guiltily thought about making a backyard mix of the two. Now I know what it would look like! Thanks for the pics...it's neat to see how the chick got the 5 toes...you never know with mixes.

Just goes to show us what we can learn from each other. I may need to try it...I would sure like to see it for myself!

Wow! Those birds are gorgeous! The Ameraucana/Faverolle cross is really neat. I love how colorful he is. It almost looks like you created a new Polish color; that looks like it was created on purpose! I'd call it, "black-winged white".
