Why do people insist on using the term "going south" to mean bad things.....

I know, but you know how fast things can go south.

Going North would sound silly. Going "up" just does not seem like a bad thing to me...

Romans 12:18-

If possible, as far as it depends on you, be peaceable with all men.

I'll play nice...I like Ecclesiastes 3:1...

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven

If you are going to do the verse, please put the actual quote rather than just citing it. I won't be bothered to look up the quotes, and I don't have to book memorized.

Matthew 5:3,10

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

If north is up on a map then you are holding it wrong.

All maps are meant to be read layed flat an rotated to where the compass rose matches a compass.

Maps are oriented on the page to best fit the page. If you choose to read a map with north always pointed up, thats fine but that dont make north up.
