I love my Easter Eggers for their curiosity and friendliness. I also love my Brahmas and Silkies for their beauty. Speckled Sussex are catchy to my eyes as well. Next year I hope to get some Cochins, they are very pretty too.

This is something that I have been thinking about. I am at the point where I have to decide which breeds are going to be my focus. I love my Orps too so they are definitely one I am going to keep... my Orp roo is a real sweetie. I have 4 coops and runs and I want two breeds for each coop. One is strictly Banties... Silkies and Porcelain d'Uccles. I like a visually diverse flock as well as different color eggs. My customers love getting a colorful carton of eggs. I will keep my Easter Eggers but have to decide between my Welsummers and Cuckoo Marans... the Marans are a nice heavy breed... so I am leaning toward them. For white eggs I have Brown Leghorns and Norwegian Jaerhons... I am Norwegian so the Jaerhons won...
....actually they are less flighty than the Leghorns. I have a few years to work it all out since I am slowly shaping my flock as my hens age. But as of right now I have Blue Cochins, Gold Lace Wyandottes, Salmon Favorelles, Black Jersey Giants, Red Stars and Black Stars, and a few Australorps.. plus the ones listed above.... this is going to be hard
We love our blue cochin! She is so pretty and gentle and she laid our first egg.
I am new to raising chickens. I have three white leghorns and two RReds and 1 rooster RRed. I would like to get some Eater Eggers. Which EEs lay the most colorful eggs?

You never know quite what you are going to get with EEs because they are mutts. You never know what color eggs you are going to get until you get them. If you want some control over egg color then you need to get true Ameraucanas or true Araucanas from a breeder. Breeders concentrate on producing birds that are true to standard and often breed for perfect egg color. Araucanas have some issues with their egg fertility so they are pricey, but you get true blue eggs from them. I would like to get my hands on some true Araucanas but they are a little rich for my blood at this point.
My favorite breed of all time are JGs. Not the prettiest, nor the best layers, but so big and regal and gentle that they will always hold a place in my heart.
